: South Korea has issued a request for bids on 36 attack helicopters to replace the 60 old AH-1F/J Cobras. Those invited to bid are:

@ US Bell, with the AH-1Z King Cobra

@ US Boeing, with the AH-64D Longbow Apache

@ US Sikorsky, with an armed version of the UH-60 BlackHawk

@ South Africa's Denel with the AH-2A Rooivalk

@ Eurocopter with its Tiger

@ Russia's Kamov with its Ka-50, and

@ Russia's Mil with its advanced Mi-28.--Stephen V Cole
